The partnership brings exclusive content from two top celebrities to serve and grow Spotify’s global audience of 320 million monthly active users. In a press release on Tuesday, the two said they would “host and produce podcasts that create community through shared experience, descriptions and values.”
Arkwell Audio’s multi-year partnership with Spotify includes several projects, some hosted and produced by the Duke and Duchess. The holiday special they offer will be released later this month. Their first series is set to debut next year. All programs are exclusively available on Spotify.
“What we like about podcasting is that it reminds us all to take a moment, really listen and connect with each other without distraction,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a joint statement. “With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time than this, because when we listen to each other, when we listen to each other’s stories, we are all reminded of how close we are to each other.”
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may live in California, but the power of their voices lies in being citizens of the world,” Astroff said in a statement Tuesday. “The fact that they embrace the extraordinary ability of podcasts on the spot and seek to raise less representative voices is a testament to their appreciation for the ability of audio storytelling.”
